Yoga Philosophy
Yoga unites the Individual Self (Jiva) with the Universal Self (Brahman). In fact, the Jiva is just a microcosmic reflection of the Brahman.
The term ‘Yoga’ has its roots in Sanskrit. It means ‘union’. Therefore, yoga helps an individual to achieve the ultimate goal of human life. In fact, all our activities are targeted towards the realization of this supreme mission.
 
How does Yoga help?
  Yoga is the spiritual path through which one will have to tread to reach one’s destination. And, to reach that goal, obviously one will have to dedicatedly follow the road signs. Here, the three indicators are hygienic lifestyle, ethical regulation and moral self-control.

The basis of Yoga

Yoga has two firm bases. They are physical and spiritual. On the physical plane are the asanas, Kriyas, Bandhas and Pranayams besides the four Mudras. Today we live in a very stressful world with all economic uncertainties, high pressured competitiveness and social complexities. All these factors affect our mind leading to emotional imbalance, confusion, depression and lack of proper sleep. We have high rates of suicide, mental illness and other such problems. These emotional misbalances are often caused by the over or under secretion of glands, which have tremendous effect on our body and mind.

3 nights 04 days program covering yoga, meditation, relaxation,  pranayam .

Day 01 : One can take a train/drive to Rishikesh from Delhi.
Arrive Rishikesh and transfer to High  Bank Peasants Cottage*/ High Bank  Himalayan Retreat**. After a welcome drink, check in &  and acclimatization briefing about the whole program, followed by introduction to the Yoga teacher.

Evening visit the Ghat’s s to encounter evening Ghat life as well as special Arti  “The Prayer dedicated to Goddess Ganges” . Rishikesh  the town of ashrams and temples, Ghats and pilgrims, mountains and the holy Ganges. When global orange sun suspended, waits low amid the red/yellow streaked horizon, then all these combine to give this town a very special evening. The temple bells roar, priests enchant mantras. Immersed in sublimation  stand  the pilgrims.  Cupped  leaves, with saffron marigold petals and a small candle flame, flickering ride the current of water of wisdom. Suddenly the sky darkens, spreading a blanket of stillness. Everything stops, except the sound of current, which has just sunk the tiny flames of cupped leaves, few minutes back. After experiencing above we trace ours steps back to the hotel. Evening dinner.& overnight  High Bank Peasants Cottage / High Bank HimalayanRetreat.

Day 02 : Early morning yoga class followed by relaxation of body & mind.
After relaxation learn about breath awareness exercise.  After breakfast & some rest proceed for sight seeing trip of Rishikesh. We visit some of the most important temples and ashrams today. Lunch. After little rest evening class of Yoga & meditation. Dinner & overnight High Bank Peasants Cottage / High Bank HimalayanRetreat.

Day 03 : Early morning yoga & meditation class.  we’ll get training for Dynamic yoga,  advance yoga postures & PRANAYAM (advance breathing).
After breakfast drive up to Vashist Gufa (cave) . The entire drive is along the river Ganges towards the source for about an hour. Arrive and explore Vashisht Gufa (cave), where famous Indian saint Vashisht  meditated. A perfect place for transcendental meditation. Late afternoon drive back . Evening class for meditation . Dinner and overnight at High Bank Peasants Cottage / High Bank HimalayanRetreat.

Day 04 : Early morning practice advance posture of yoga.
Day free for own activities. Evening meditation and question answer session. Evening the course terminates.One can stay back  / take Shatabdi Express back to Delhi or drive to onward destination in Uttaranchal.

High Bank Peasants Cottage :
Situated on the outskirts of busy Rishikesh town this is the best area in Rishikesh.  It is located 3 kms from Rishkesh near Laxman Jhula area on a hill at higher elevation from the town. The Guest House has clean rooms with attached baths / hot water, nice gardens, & good balcony over looking the forest and the far town area The main tourist area on the  banks of holy Ganges are with 5 minutes walk. As the Guest house is on the edge of the reserve forest one can make excellent nature walks around.

High Bank Himalayan Retreat :
Himalayan Retreat  Is located  17 kms up river from Rishkesh in Shivpuri, a small Himalayan village. Situated at the base  of Himalayan Hill on the banks of the holy Ganga ( The Ganges) Himalayan Retreat  has big open green meadow area surrounded by thick Himalayan forests, where luxury is blended perfectly with Nature. Accommodation is in large swiss cottage tents with attached baths and running hot water etc. Pure Himalayan herbs are grown and used to give you a complete rejuvenation experience

Important : The yoga activities in the course are flexible and intensity of the classes will change as per the level of learners or requirement.
